A half hour drive east on I-10 will bring you to Willcox, Arizona that touts everything from its famous western movie icon to pick your own fruit and produce farm, and everything in between.

Fans of western music and movies come to Willcox for Rex Allen Days to celebrate the life of this western star. The Rex Allen Museum and Hall of Fame recognizes real cowboys and their contribution to what made this country great.

Those who like the outdoors should check out Chiricahua National Monument and the Cochise Stronghold where you will find camping and classic Sonoron Desert hiking trails.

Birders and all nature lovers will want to raise your binoculars and cameras to see the tens of thousands of sandhill cranes and other birds as they take flight over Cochise Lake and begin their morning feeding. The “Wings Over Willcox” Festival offers guided birding walks and educational presentations on Sandhill Cranes and other natural history topics.

A favorite stop of locals is a visit to Apple Annie’s Orchards, where you can pick your own produce, or just take it off the shelves. Stop by the Country Store for some homemade apple pie.
