“The Town Too Tough to Die.” That’s how Tombstone identifies itself.
Old West afficionados will get a thrill while walking the streets once populated with the likes of Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, Curly Bill Brocius and Johnny Ringo. Visit the O.K. Corral and the outdoor theater where the famous Gunfight at the O.K. Corral is reenacted. The Tombstone Courthouse and its gallows right outside the door has been designated an Arizona State Park with historic displays of the period.
Visit the Bird Cage Theater that was featured in the movie “Tombstone” and see all the bullet holes left by audiences who signaled their appreciation of performances with hoopla and gunfire. And just outside town is Boothill Cemetery, where you’ll find the graves of the losers of the famous O.K. Corral gunfight.
Along historic Allen Street, you’ll find shops with old west merchandise and displays and a selection of saloons where you can pull up to the bar for a burger and a brew.
